Nice, that's about what I have… also, it's cool that 16-cores seem to be coming down in price (Ryzen 3950X is only $700).
A 64-core proc would be a dream machine for both CPU rendering as well as Pyro/FLIP. I believe the latest Renderman demo was done on a 64-core Threadripper:

Regarding Apple/AMD, personally, I wouldn't hold my breath for either of those two things. Long-term, sure anything can happen! But short-term, ehhhh…
Thanks for the reply!

I can't tell if Python quickmarks exist yet so I'm just going to RFE it! Are there any workarounds?

Thank you bumba! I don't understand why this isn't a single checkbox option (seems like the same problem as having non-intersecting circles in heightfield scatter).

Did you ever find an answer? I am having the same problem, surely it must be an option on UV Layout SOP…

If you just have two computers, you might have an easier time with Deadline (free for two nodes).

You don't need another simulation, just use a SOP Vectorfield DOP and an Apply Data DOP to attach the volume from SOPs right to the Cloth Object. Just make sure you match the name of the newly imported volume (in DOPs) to the External Velocity Field parm. Also, a Vectorfield Visualization DOP is handy to make sure you are importing the volume correctly.

It seems that “Enable Background Image” does not toggle the Display background image in 18.0.366… or am I misunderstanding what the “Enable Background Image” checkbox is supposed to do…
EDIT: Oops, that's for render time… will RFE changing the name to “Render Background Image”.

You can either use Transform Pieces SOP together with a DOP Import set to “points only” mode or do it manually as described here:

Technical Discussion » [Bullet] Relationship between Glue strengths and generated Impacts?

Did you ever find an answer? I'm also digging into the depths of glue constraints and can't quite understand how they work… I think they only respond to “contact constraints” which are like collision etc. so they wouldn't be fighting gravity.
