Not sure if this is an nVidia driver issue, but Houdini is crashing several times an hour on me.
Mac OSX 10.12.3 on a Mac Pro Mid 2010 with dual Hex Core and 80GB of RAM.
Running the latest nVidia Web Driver.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I have a circle I need rotated in a ‘forever’ style rotation, but in a specific movement.
I need it to rotate 4 degrees in 4 frames, and then pause for 10 frames, then rotate 4 more degrees in 4 frames, and repeat.
Not sure how to accomplish this using Chops, or is there a better way to do it without creating a ton of keyframes?

I will look at your .hip file.
I ended up ‘cheating’ a bit and using the new boolean SOP which seemed to work OK, but I know is not the best practice.

It showed me the step I was missing. I tried the Poly Split, but never knew about the divisions.

Hi,
This is what I'm trying to model.
As you can see, the top goes from a square to a circle.
I know how to do this in Cinema 4D, but am having problems trying to repeat it in Houdini.
This is what I need to do.
I tried beveling a point on a grid, but that didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Yeah, I would want a much nicer, bigger budget version. That effect was too small and too short.

Hi,
I'm on a Mac using Houdini for a project and am looking at purchasing a simple 3DS Rigged character from TurboSquid but would like to get it into Houdini rigged so I don't have to rig it myself.
Anyone know of a way to do this?
Does FBX carry over rigging information?

Pretty much yes, unless you want to use a render farm.
If you have another PC and a second license for Indie, you can render that way. That's what I did.
I built a render machine for Houdini so I can still work while things are rendering, but it cost me a second Houdini Indie license.

I believe Maxon is the one who makes the Houdini Engine pipeline plug-in and not SideFX. You would need to install it from inside of Cinema 4D.

And yes, I am able to run both H15x and H16 with my H16 license.

The only ‘camera match’ I've used that is perfect is between C4D and After Effects. And it goes both ways.
It's pretty amazing.
I know there is a Python script that will export a Houdini camera and nulls or other objects as nulls into a script you can run in After Effects, and that has worked in the past, but for this project, I haven't been able to get it to work as desired.

Hi all,
Just trying to see how things work here and exported a simple camera move on some geometry in Cinema 4D and then exported that as Alembic for import into Houdini.
The frame-by-frame camera animation does not match. It's close, but I need a perfect match.
Is this normal?

I have several grids with a mountain SOP that I'm using as a shatter tool for the new boolean.
But I'm receiving this warning, and am not really sure what it means.
Can someone enlighten me on that? Should I be worried about it?

I'm trying to figure out how to ‘swipe’ across multiple wires with a alt+left-mouse-button click and create a dot that will ‘gather’ all the wires I move across. It's not working for me.
All it does for me is create a single dot, then I try to drag it over the other wires to ‘gather’ them together, but it just passes over them and does't ‘grab’ onto them or ‘gather’ them.
What am I missing?

Hi,
So I've been working on a project where I need to have a crack animate on and have parts of it crumble away as it progresses.
I'm using a spline to create my crack, but the edges are still very straight and fake looking.
Any idea how to get the edges looking more like this?
This is a photo of an actual crack, removed the background in Photoshop and put in AE with the clean plate.

However, I can't find it anywhere.
I found a Drive Simulation shelf, but no ‘Creep’ in there.
I'm trying to replicate shooting particles from an emitter at an object and having those particles flow ‘over’ the object.
