Hi dealer2couleurs. Thanks for sharing the idea. Sure I will let you know if I get the solution
Just wondering can we use foreach sop to convert each chunk in to a rbd object? Creating a dop network in foreach and using ouput of each sop as input to rbd object
I did that and it converts the first polygon of the grid in to a rbd. But when I came out of foreach and play the sim, the grid didnt move. (Is it because of the display fag? How can I see the output of dopnet in the foreach sop?)
I am not comfertable with foreach sop. Can someone help?
@ acaiborka - Hi. Thanks for the link. I have subscribed khermahjaymouh on youtube . It seems he has just posted the video.

I have a grid and used facet sop to unique it's polygons. Then I used a shatter sop on that grid to form different pieces , I clipped the output by animating the distance para of clip sop. So it appears that a grid is forming out of different pieces. (See the attached file)
I converted this output in to a rbd glue object. What I want to acchive is , each piece of the grid should form a seperate rbd object and move down as it comes in to existance by the gravity force ( I hope I am making sence here.. )
But it seems that what I did is not the way to make different rbd objects out of one objects as it comes in to existance.
Please help
Thanks a lot.

It seems that I got the solution. I used primitive sop after poly extrude and befor shatter sop. In it's Face/ Hull option go to vertex and set it to ‘Reverse’ and the unwanted surface I was talking about, disappears!!
But didnt understand how it solved the problem? . (This is changing the surface normals direction)
can someone please explain this to me
Thanks

Is it related to surface normals? They are pointing inside after polygon extrusion. So I reversed the direction of extrusion but still it didn't take care of the entire unwanted surface. How can I change the direction of surface normals like what we can do with point normals?

I used a shatter tool on a poly extruded grid, it gives me a unwanted surface along the cut. When I set ‘creat inside surface ’ off , that unwanted surface disappears but then the shattered pieces remain opened. When I disable the poly extrude sop it works fine (see sphere object1 network).
Can someone please explain?

I am applying a uniform force to a rbd glue object. I am using mask field, as soon as the mask vanishes the rbd object disappears(after 20th frame). Can someone please explain why is this happening, where am I going wrong?
Thanks

This time its really a very basic doubt. sorry about it (beginner) ops:
I want to upload a scene file on this forum, which has a .bgeo file in it. So I should also attach that .bgeo file along with .hip file. But I am not able to attach . bgeo file, getting message ‘.bgeo extension is not allowed’ & without that .bgeo file .hip file is not working. What do I do?

Thanks a lot Tomas for this explanation, it really helped me to understand how foreach sop is working in this case

I cant belive , I missed out this .Taking output from merge node without deleting the group with delet non selected option.
Thanks Jeff and Tamte.
Tamte, could you please explain a bit what you did in foreach sop, the logic that you used.
Thanks a lot.

Hi there, I just started using Houdini. I am attaching a scene file.
There are couple of boxes, each having different colour than the other, and a tube in the scene file.
I want the boxes to change the colour as soon as the tube enters a bounding box (each box acts as a bounding box for itself).
Somehow I managed to get this, but cant collect output of all the boxes in merge node (There is some error in ‘merge’ node which I didnt understand)
Can someone please tell me what should I do in order to see the output of each box with other remaining boxes?
Is there a better way to achieve this effect?
Thanks
