Hello ,

If I render a simple image in TIFF format (NTSC D1 100 %),

Mantra says the aspect ratio is 0.9 1.

If I load the image in Fusion 5 , the loader node says the aspect ratio is 1 1.

Why is this happening?

thanks,

A pixel is a pixel. By definition it has no inherent shape - it's a point with a colour. It's the end display device that has physical characteristics of being a square(your computer monitor) or a rectangle(a video display unit). For convenience, you can say an image has a pixel aspect ratio of 0.9 - it means that it was created with the intention of being displayed on a video device, but it's still just a bunch of pixels.

I can't speak for Fusion, but when you load images like this in compositors you sometimes need to tell them this information. Sometimes the image format has the ability to store this information and pass it on(like OExr). Still, it doesn't matter. Just tell Fusion the image's intended destination is video.
