I wanted to know if there is a way to do this:
I want to work on a model over time, but i don't want to have to wait until it is finished before i start animating it in another .hipnc file
I'll have a .hipnc file with a car model and a .hipnc file with a highway.
Is there a way to merge the .hipnc car file with the .hipnc highway file so that if i make changes to the .hipnc car file by itself, the merged highway and car file will automatically read the updates i made?
Thanks in advance for letting me know if there is a way of doing this!

In terms of work flow
1) Write the car model out to disk and version it .
2) Create new scene using FILE SOP read in the car model off disk. maybe build a version up control interface so every time there's an updated model you can then “version up”
3)Do the same for your road
You can work all in the same scene or create a fresh scene its up to you. I often find writing the geometry to disk is a good work flow. Then using the file sop read it. Working in the same scene for the time being might be beneficial for you at the moment.
