Here is a stack of three images. The question is how to make a surface(s) from these images?

The Trace SOP is pretty ideal for these situations.

You can append a Trace Sop followed by a Carve Sop and a PolyExtrude Sop. On the PolyExtrude, use the Inset value to have a continuous offset from the curves.

Do yo want to animate between the 3 states after?

Here's a .hip file which uses the volume VOP to generate a volume primitive.

I hope that with more cross-sections, you'd be able to get a better shape.

You might also blend between two maps (to get interpolation in the y axis).
