when the Houdini is doing some geometry-based calculation, the time used is automatically updated and displayed at the lower left corner of the Houdini window (see attached image).

Is there any way to retrieve and write out the time used for the current session of calculation to an external text file when the calculation is done?

or is it possible to use Hscript or Python script to activate an email alert when whatever calculation or operation is done?

Thanks!

Have a look at the Performance Monitor. It can give you the time each operator took to process along with a bunch of other information.

You can open the performance monitor with the hotkey alt-y or
Main Menu: Windows > Performance Monitor
