in houdini 6.1 apprentice, i cannot create any new desktop,
when tried to do that i always got error msg :
“error reading desktop file cprogram files/……/desk3.desk on line 1”
is it a software bug?

Yep. It's a bug. The way around it is to open Desktop Manager and create
a new desktop in there. Than switch to that desktop and customize it.
