Whenever I try to use the hcustom command I get two errors, luckily the same kind (environment variables). In the regular Win2K command prompt shell it tells me that my “HOME” environment variable isn't configured correctly but when I execute hcustom in the Cygwin bash shell it tells me that my MSVCDir isn't configured correctly.

I don't know what “HOME” is suposed to be, but I've tried to get the MSVCDir one right (even with DOS-length, dir/x, filenames) but nothing has worked so far.

- I have Visual C++ is installed here: C:\Program Files\Visual_Studio (C:\Program Files\Visual_Studio\VC98)
- And the Houdini HDK is installed here: C:\Houdini_6.1.299\toolkit

Hi,

You need to set them using DOS's “truncated” form of the path, i.e. dir /x

Here's what mine looks like:

$HOME:
C:\DOCUME~1\marks\MYDOCU~1\

$MSVDIR:
C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~4\VC98

–Mark
