How can I use a .ds file?
In the parameter editor window, the left side contains some preset parameters that you can add to your node. I remember there is a way to add a set of parameters in the parameter editor window. For example, in the “For rendering” tab I can add a folder which contains some of my custom parameters.

You can create a file $HOME/houdini13.0/soho/parameters/IFDmantra.user.ds and add parameters similar to the file found in $HH/soho/parameters/IFDmantra.ds (look in this file for “sinclude”

These will show up as mantra parameters. If you don't want this, you can modify SOHOparameters to create your own category.
