I am trying to render a large scene, but Mantra is crashing after approx 10 frames reporting a Command Exit Code 255.
It's frustrating to restart the render over and over again.
Can somebody explain to me what Command Exit Code 255 is, and give me some advice how to prevent Mantra from crashing?

Thank you for your answer circusmonkey.
Sorry, but I can't post the scene. It is heavy with lots of objects and textures.
The render time for one frame i approx 1.5 hour.
On the other hand, I can give you a bit more information.

Thank you again circusmonkey.
I just don't know were to start. Simplified scene? Do you mean reduce polygons in all the objects? Reducing number of objects? No texture? One object at the time? or one light at the time.
Sorry, but I have no clue how I can simplify it.
I hoped that the 255 code would more or less point in one direction. Or at least limit the problem into one area.

Just an update. The problem seems to be solved. Command Exit Code 255 is a network issue and not a Houdini specific problem.
The project was stored on a server. Was open on a workstation from the server. The rendered frames was saved back to the server.
I moved the project over to the workstation, and no more Command Exit Code 255.
