Hi,

I'm pretty new to Houdini and I'm trying to make a 3-tier fountain with flip fluids. I've set up some cylinders of fluid to fill the bowls at the start of the sim but they do not work, as the fluid seems to collapse in to a fraction of it's previous volume on collision with the fountain Geo.

Is there a better way to set this up? I'm attaching my file & some screenshots for example.

NOTE: Your scene file did not seem to attach..?

What I have done in the past is to prepare an object in the shape of the bowl/basin. Then turn that object into fluid, not an emitter. So you have two fluid objects, one is a start up amount of fluid and the other is an emitter which can create additional fluid to fall into that initial fluid.

I used a cookie with a box subtract against my obstacle object to create the initial fluid for the basin in my waterfall. Then you can use the Fluid From Object shelf tool on that resulting object to include it into the flip sim as an initial fluid amount.
