Hello So I decided to use a fur simulation for my characters hair. But one time I had to force quit Houdini then I reopened the file and the hair is not visible in viewport or render!

Does anyone know what might have possibly gone wrong? Because the settings of the hair is just there as before.
I tried creating a new fur simulation and that doesn't show as well!
but it is still loading the fur properly as if it is still there! It might be a visibility problem…

If I made a new project the fur worked.

Someone please help! Thank you!

Sorry, here is the simplified file with the same fur simulation in it.
Please change the skin to the Head in the file.

After having a look in the demo file:
Have a look in the “geo1_fur” sop, there the path to the “Skin”…
Where is this geometry?
The path is wrong in my opinion…

Oh sorry is it possible to change the skin to the head in the file? I couldn't attach that because it had too much data like blend shapes and deform in it…

The important question is:
Do you have the right path in your local file :-?

But I think I had longer hair before…

Ok, then you should ask your hair stylist what he has done

The “Group” is the face set where the fur is assigned
if you have changed the geometry, then you have to reassign
the right faces.
Maybe you should set the cloth to non visible,
and then have a look if you can find “your hair”
somewhere else on the geo.

Hey, I think the group is right because the paint_fur density is painted at the right place. I looked around his body but couldn't find the hair as well….
It is loading the hair as well but the problem is just that it is not visible!!!

The target skin is only the head anyways because the head and the body is separated for blend shapes.

After I fiddled around for a while the hair appeared in the viewport but still not in the render.
Does anyone know the things I better check to make the hair appear in the render as well?

Is a fur shader assigned ?
And is the model scale correct?
Does the model have a “real word” size…

Do you mean the material? Yes the material is assigned.

Okay, here is the file with the original skin attached to it.
Can you see what is wrong here?
The blend shapes, the material and the other parts of the body is omitted.
