Hello,
If I drag and drop a spare channel onto a non-spare channel, it just copies the value, it doesn't give me the Relative Ref option popup…

Er, what do you mean by “spare” and “non-spare” channels? Spare channels don't even exist anymore.
Where exactly in the interface are you doing this drag 'n drop?

Well, when I wave my mouse over the icon it says “Add Spare Parameter” so I naturally assumed they were called Spare Parameters, with associated Spare Channels…
This is adding a spare parameter then trying to drag and drop that new spare channel onto a regular channel. Say, in an Object.

This seems fine in 8.0.403 (Suse 9.1) (I tried grabbing the text and the parameter name)

So you got a pop-up asking if you wanted relative references etc?

Hmm, that does work for me. I'm sure it didn't somewhere…
