Hi!
There is a peculiarity of the CaptureRegion SOP, that I was occupied with for some hours now. If you set the center of a capture region to (x,y,z), the real center point is located at (x,y, -z). The z-axis is negated. I don't know if this is intended, but if it is, it should be documented in the help.
I'm using Houdini 8.0.411 on Linux.

This was intentional I think. At least it was this way since before Houdini 4. Bones are oriented such that the negative Z-axis points towards the tip of the bone to be consistent with cameras. My best guess is that then someone decided that a positive Z position for the centre of the cregions made more sense and thus negated the Z component to get this.
