If your .abc has animation you will be converting from a single .abc file to multiple .bgeo.sc files. Find the final geometry node within the Alembic Archive (assuming it is a single object) then drop down a ROP Output Driver and specify a filename with the frame number global variable embedded in the filename. Then render that frame range to produce the .bgeo.sc sequence. And example filename might look like this. my_converted_ABC_$F4.bgeo.sc

Haven't tried it, but ran across this yesterday. Houdini has a number of command line utilities. For example, in Windows I can find them under C:\Program Files\Side Effects Software\Houdini 16.0.557\bin.

The docs [sidefx.com] list the utilities. gabc looks promising, as it says it can “convert between alembic and houdini geometry”.
