There are some problems with edge/curve snapping.
When set to geo edge snap only, Houdini snaps to some non existent objects or directions (orient on snap is disabled).
I tried every combination with no luck. This is horrible within a complex scene. I have 10 drawings imported (over 10 thousands of curves) and I'm unable to draw precisely.
Point snap works very good by the way.
This was tested in a very simple fresh 2 curve scene also.
I hope it's fixable somehow?

It probably won't help in this case but you need to set the ends sop to “open”, I use snapping to edges a lot and it usually works fine.
One other thought, are they NURBs curves? If so I think the snap snaps to the Hull not the curve it's self, so you need to turn the hulls on, the only way round it is to resample the curves to polys with lots of points.

The trick is finding just the right hammer for every screw
