Apprentice licenses are working great!

Hey, my Houdini apprentice license was ok until yesterday. I tried to generate a new one from this link

https://www.sidefx.com/services/non-commercial-license/ [www.sidefx.com]

but it says

“ERROR: Could not get a non-commercial license for version 16.0. Please visit www.sidefx.com to get the latest released version of Houdini”

Is that because the new version of Houdini is about to be released?

Anyone with the same issue?

Yeah! I know, but why disable already working licenses? I guess I will need to wait a bit to resume my studies, is that it?

Oops! It seems that the testing of Apprentice licenses took a bit longer than expected, and 16.0 Apprentice licenses were unavailable during the testing. I'm sure nobody meant to make it “Maya night”. I wouldn't wish that upon anybody, haha.

Thx for the reply! Would you be able to tell me if now, as the 16.5 is out, we won't have apprentice licenses for 16.0? Should I just go ahead and get the 16.5? I tried to reinstall my 16.0 apprentice license today but no success on that again.

Why? It's the same as Houdini: It comes with all the tools you need to build workarounds for the problems that come with using the software….

A 16.5 license should work for all previous versions, but I think you probably need to run 16.5 to get one in Apprentice. After that, running previous versions should hopefully work again.
