Hi,
I am trying to use a .e57 file as the source for creating a terrain. What is the procedure? I tried the HeightField File node but it didn't work. The point cloud seems fine when I check it in the Lidar Import node, though no normals, are they needed?

you might try the Heightfield Project

Thanks, arctor. I tried and Heightfield Project doesn't respond to the points coming from the Lidar Import. It works with regular geometry, though.

yeah you'll need to mesh the point cloud
depending on what your data looks like you might try adding a rest SOP then triangulate2D
Select Projection Plane
and turn ON Restore Original Point Positions
