Geometry errors in Object Merge

I'm wondering why I can't “object merge” for example the “Simple Male” Character.

Info window says:

Warning Invalid sop specified: “/obj/simplemale1”.

Is this a wanted behaviour or a bug?

I think that is just a subnet. You may need to dive a little deeper. Look for a node inside of simplemale1 named something like geo_skin..?

Hi Enivob,

many thanks for the response :-)

Yes that's a possible solution, but what if you have a locked asset?
Then you can not grab the output which is there on the geometry level.

The reason why I think it is more or less a “bug”, is that if I simply
use a * wildcard, then I get all contents of the subnet, not only the
“visible” ones.
In obj merge use:
/obj/simplemale1/*

instead of:
/obj/simplemale1

I don't think there is any bug here.

You can object merge nodes from a locked asset, I have done it many times with the characters that ship with Houdini. I often do this so I don't have to unlock the asset.
