I am working on a project that is requiring a lot of color conversion between HEX values.

Is there an existing hook into the color picker where I could extend the existing color picker with a new field that I could paste HEX values into?

OR:

Is there a way to make the eyedropper pick any color on the screen? It seems kind of silly that it can only read pixels within it's own dialog box and not a picture on the screen.
