I purchased Houdini Indie in January, and with the recent changes to the licensing that allow for larger resolution renders etc, I want to upgrade.

Do I need to return my license before installing? Or can I just go through the “uninstall old/reinstall new” and it will be ok? I'd just hate to be out $200 because of negligence on my part.

I think you just install the latest version and you'll be fine. That's what I did.

you license is for 1 calendar year - so you can use any version made available during that time.
just download a the newer build and start the install - as part of this process you'll be asked in you want to uninstall the older version(s).
