Hi, I just reinstalled Houdini 16.5.405 and included the Engine installation option, but when I drag the contents of the assets foldedr into unity, the Houdini Plugin doesn't show up in the menu bar and dragging the assets into the scene doesn't work either. Also there is no .unitapackage file in the hfs16.5/engine/unity folder. Is there no support for the Linux Version or did something go wrong in my particular installation?
Thx, Stefan
Edit: just installed 16.5.439 which works!

Hello,
I'm interested in this, so just to be clear, there _is_ a Unity Engine plugin for Linux?
Also, are you using Centos or Ubuntu or ?? distro?
Cheers,
Peter B

We do ship version 1 of the plugin on Linux. Version 2 hasn't been added yet.
As for the distro, it will work on whatever Unity supports, though that looks to be just Ubuntu so far.
See Unity info here:

I'll look to add version 2 to our Linux installer soon.

Cool thanks!
FYI, the Unity support people told me that “Centos 7 will be supported when Unity is officially released on Linux” since they are targeting the VFX industry which as we know is Centos7 based.
Since Unreal is built from source on Linux (which I found to be trivial) in some ways it's already Centos 7 compatible.
