Houdini Escape on GeforceFX 7600GT?

Hi,

I've just installed the apprentice version of Houdini Escape and can't get the wireframes to show up. I'm wondering if its compatible with my GeforceFX 7600GT, or do I have to get a Quadro for it to work properly?

I have a little GForce FX Go5200 AGP 4X on my laptop and Houdini works fine under Linux and Windows. I dont think you have to go for a big card… unless you want performance.
Time to get out of this messy world.

Hi Luq,

You don't need a Quadro. The problem might lie with the version of the graphics driver. I think the version that should work well is 77.56 but please search through the forum to confirm.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Will try to install an older version of the driver and see if that works. I think mine is like 83.XX or something.

Another question:

The only 77.56 driver that I could find is the Quadro ones. But under product supported, my 7600GT is included.

Does a Quadro driver means that i can only install it on a Quadro?

I don't think so. nVidia had “unified” drivers a long time now.
