Landscapes retaining information

Hello,

I've been messing with heightfields in unreal using houdini engine.
They mostly work fine except for when I start layer painting on an input landscape.
When I use this layer painted landscape as input for a hda, it will process just fine but, it will lose all
the layer info (and world composition data) afterwards.
Would anyone know a way to get around this?

Hi,

Could you give us a little more information on the issue?

Landscape layers (painted or improted) are sent to Houdini as Heightfield masks when using landscape input. All masks are then converted back to layers by the plugin when outputting the landscape back.

However, world composition data is not sent or read back by the plug-in, and since a new landscape is generated by the HDA, gets lost in the process.
