Is there a way to import 60 unique hand modeled meshes into houdini and convert them into a geometry cache? Each mesh should be a single frame of the final animation.

Ive done this before using this script (https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/Engine/Animation/Tools/VertexAnimationTool/VAT_KF_Meshes)

Here is a 15 or so frame test I did.


Being able to export this as an Alembic geometry cache would give me much more control over the effect. Is it even possible using Houdini?

Never tried that myself, but it should be possible to export that as an abc cache via the alembic ROP, see http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini/io/alembic.html#export [www.sidefx.com]
