here is a quick example
I don't use it much - I prefer to paint one side and use mirror capture.
Does the mirror capture work with the central bones?
I don't know where my pivot goes and how to find it, but I shifted the pivot to the center of the geometry and moved it. I centered the geometry http://take.ms/qGgCZ [take.ms]
A symmetric drawing takes center from the initial position of the pivot? If so, how to reset the geometry along with the current position of the pivot?

if you're doing a symmetrical character just leave the pivot at default
Here, the model has a properly centered pivot bay default http://take.ms/AKSG8 [take.ms] but the symmetric drawing still does not work

I'll have a look at it and try to see what is going on…
I usually don't bother trying to paint with symmetry - I'll just mirror when I've finished one side.
Frankly speaking I still do not fully understand how the mirror works and what it depends on. Here for example on a sphere the mirror works normally but on my model does not work http://take.ms/xVY5q [take.ms] It's probably a common cause that I'm missing from my mind.
