Hello,

I'm very new to Houdini and I'm interested into CloudFX.

Can anyone please help me out with using the Painted Attribute for Scattering of Secondary Shapes?

Here's my setup but sadly, it doesn't work. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

And here's how I made the attribute:

I've set its name to ‘paint1’ and added the paint node and filled the mesh with black and then painted white where I want the secondary shapes.

I've googled a lot but haven't found anything about this workflow.

Thanks!

The point here is that the attribute you want to use is not available to the “coud1” operator as you're creating if AFTER its use.
Wire this way: cloud_source>attribcreate1>paint1>cloud1> …
This way you create the attribute and then you can use it.
