UV Seams from attribute?

i want the seams to occur only in the white areas! How can i go about this? it seems straightforward but as i experiment it gets really complicated. Maybe i'm missing something basic here. the game devtools do not have this option specifically. I need somehow to select a more or less straight edge path in the white areas.
