Split by texture

I've just started to study Houdini. Sorry if question is stupid.
Is there anything like Vertex Split but for free cutting path. For example I have black and white mask with random paint and I'd like to cut off black. Then I use result for other purposes.
Yes, I can subdivide mesh to make primitives as small as pixels of texture, then use Vertex Split and finally Poly Reduce and Assemble. But that's too expansive. Is there any better solutions?
