Is there a way to remove the internal structures to free memory after cooking/rebuilding? HARS.exe is using a lot of memory, sometimes ~13GB from a total of 32GB.

Is this through the Unity plugin or custom HAPI usage? What are you loading that could be using up so much memory?

You can close and reopen the Houdini Engine session via the Unity plugin, though it would be good to find out the cause.

Unity plugin. I create a 2x2km terrain with 16 alphamap layers and ~65k objects.

Those 65k objects (with dummy geometry) are placed with various hf scatter nodes. In unity i iterate over them, replace them with the correct prefab and finally pass them to Vegetation Studio for optimized rendering :-)
