Hi,
i get an additional terrain layer with 17.5.391: heu_terrain_default_splat. Is this an issue with my setup or with the engine?

Please try with latest daily build and submit a bug with HDA if its still an issue. There have been some terrain changes & fixes in the last few weeks.
