Hey MasterK - become first a mantra “master” and than make a move to renderman. I recon more logical way is to stick to native renderer of any 3D software which gives you the most flexible way of working, not mentioning the price you have to pay for the renderman. I'd prefere if you speak for yourself not for all of houdini users.

Added to the list. This sort of thing should live in the docs.
I have done a few renderman setup checklists over the years.

Just yesterday I answered not one but three renderman-houdini related questions.

Is there much interest to also cover MentalRay, Air or other renderers based on the rib spec that Houdini can support today?
There's at least one school like the old school!

I'd be interested in the RIB ones for sure, anything that can use PRman shaders basically. Mental Ray doesn't excite me especially, since writing shaders is tricky

RIB ones are interesting (especially 3Delight for me, but it's covered pretty well somewhere else on the forums).
I think mental Ray is very interesting also, but less used because it is undocumented and a shader builder is missing.

Yes. Mantra + 3Delight will make an incredible combination.

You know, I am rather certain that Mantra 9 will rock you… combined with the HMaster comes with unlimited Mantra render token. So, renderman? beh.
