Hi,
In the latest version of Houdini for Mac, I could not find Houdini engine for UE 4.25 …
The latest supported version of UE is 4.24.
When Houdini team is going to add for Houdini Mac version support of UE 4.25?
In Houdini windows version it exists. It there a way to add it on Mac?

You can build the 4.25 plugin on Mac from the plugin's source code on Github.
Either

UE4.25+ came with a bump in requirements that currently still prevents us from building the plugin with Houdini.

Hi Damien,

Is that build limitation likely to be in place for some time, requiring us to build the v2 plugin from source for MacOS and UE4.25+? Just confirming before I embark on that journey (it'll take a while on this laptop :-P).

And if we were to build the plugin on one Mac, may we copy out the HE UE4 runtime plugin folder for use on another Mac with a regular packaged (non-source build) installation of UE4?

In case someone else is looking to try this before the next HE update, I did run into the same build issue on MacOS as for Linux with the enum forward references. Referencing your closed Git issue from last week solved that (https://github.com/sideeffects/HoudiniEngineForUnreal-v2/issues/67).

I haven't yet been able to successfully build UE4 from source, but at least got past the above error.

To isolate the build environment, I removed the Houdini source from the build and am running into other issues that should be unrelated to Houdini. This is a clean source download of UE 4.25.4 on an updated MacOS 11.0.1 Big Sur with XCode 12.2… something with “XCodeBuild.sh failed with exit code 6” for which I cannot find any information yet.

May we have any further clarification on the UE4.25+ bump in requirements that prevents SideFX from building the plugin with Houdini? I just hate spending weekends wrestling with build issues versus wrangling nodes :-)

Does anybody have installation instructions for Unreal Bridge on Mac that actually work? The version for Unreal 4.25 is now included in the distribution, but the installation instructions which accompany it are obsolete and do not work. There is special configuration needed (pipe, etc) according to info on Reddit, but nothing seems to work. SideFx Support are unresponsive despite a case (#108637) submitted in June.

Any help greatly appreciated.
