I'm quite new to using Houdini, where I just started uising it a few days ago. I'm trying to have a torus filled with oil for a 3D dednt project I am working on but can't seem to get it work the closest I got was to have a sphere edmit water inside it but that just caused it to fall out. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out to achive this.

Fill a rectangular tank, and boolean the torus with the surface.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Do you mean the flip tank?

yeah, I mean forget about the torus. make a cool looking water rising animation. Doesn't even have to be a simulation. Then use the boolean operator to confine the animated fluid surface to the inside of the torus. True, it won't interact with the torus at all, but that might not matter depending on what the fluid is doing.
