Hello everyone,

I am new to Houdini, sorry if this is a basic question. I have troubles with directing flip particles, attracting them to a geo to be precise :
-- i start with FLIP particles from a sphere SOP
-- POP wind for "fractal field" effect, up to frame 96
-- after frame 96, collapse the particles back into initial position (sphere SOP)

This last part is where i have problems : i have tried the POP Attract, but the particles don't really match the goal geo and are quite jiggly. I've thought about matching their velocity to the distance from goal geo, but i don't know if i can or how to do it. Or detecting collision and setting a collision behavior to stop particles (though i guess this would make for a brutal stop).

The long term goal is to figure a way to loop sims by having their final position as close as possible to their intial position

Here's the file:

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

I am searching for this solution as well, and for now I am using Pop Steer Seek with the point per particle method , for ok-ish results, there are a lot of tutorials for doing this without dynamics..took me a while to get the results I wanted.

Cheers
