Welcome to the MARDINI Daily Art Challenge which gives the Houdini community the chance to compete for cool prizes by creating a new image or animation every day during the month of March 2021.
Each week has a theme which you can see in the graphic below and each day has a prompt which is meant to inspire the artwork that you submit.
I recently started learning Houdini and I am so excited for this as it will definitely speed up my learning process by inspiring me to put more hours in creating.
Could we use displacement and normal maps, as they are kind of geometry?
So is the deadline each day midnight EST or EDT? Since its gonna change mid March and I don't live there I'm kinda confused. In the initial rules said EDT, but in the Day 1 Bounce forum initial post says it's EST... so ..
Is is fair to say that if it's time stamped before 12:00 am of next day on the forum post I'm safe?

It is EST until the time change then it will move to EDT.

Would it be possible to open the forum threads for the next couple of days ahead of time so that those of us that actually need to go offline for a day or two will still be bale to their submission in on time?

Sorry - didn't see this until the weekend is over. It has worked well so far with each day's challenge being posted at the beginning of the day. Posting too many threads too early could confuse people on which entries are due when and cause some chaos.
If you are in this situation where you weren't be able to post on the actual day but your entry was ready on time email me at rmagee@sidefx.com and I will make sure you get the 1 participation point.

BerkErdag Is there a resolution restriction for animation?
No - higher the better but we realize that some people may be working with slower setups - Do the best you can! 1920x1080 for animations would be a good target if possible. Some people use different aspect ratios which can also save on render time.
