Hello
Would it be possible to take something like a Mixamo animated character and use this to deform a none-rigged model (of roughly the same bounds)? It sounds like the Point Deform might be a way to go - has anyone come across any tutorials on using Point Deform?

Or am I going to be better learning how to rig my current model and using some mocap – if so can anyone recommend any good intro tutorials for Houdini – KineFX?

Apologies, character animation is really not in my wheelhouse, so was just seeing if there is a quick, and probably quite dirty way of transferring animation from one to the other…

Depending on the case it's probably better to create a rig for your model and retarget the animation this way.

Just spent the morning going through the tutorials and adapting - exactly what was needed... thanks again.
Very much liking the KineFX stuff... Always been very afraid of anything character animation wise, but this all seems much more intuitive.
