That does exactly what I'm trying to do, except it's not working on my system (Mojave, Houdini 18.5).

But I'm wondering if:
1. There's a way to do this natively in 18.5
2. Or if there are other plugins that do something similar.

I quite like the way it works in Blender, and would like to reproduce / have something similar in Houdini. I don't feel comfortable having to click to move the viewport.

You might be able to do this using Python Qt, but not sure. There are some multi-touch support in Houdini Qt panels but they are disabled, so enabling these might give you the ability to query touch points and using those you could possibly change the viewport.

Definitely would be useful to do this with wacom touch for example.
