It's an improved version of the Labs Delete Small Parts node.
Features Set:
- Generally faster than Labs Delete Small Parts. Up to 5x faster in light and medium loads.
- You can now provide a custom attribute to identify the pieces (with the Labs Node you can only have pieces by connectivity)
- Can also use "unshared edges" as pieces:
For example when you radially extrude circle, and you want to flag the outer (larger) edge to work selectively on it. Very useful when coupled with the following feature
- Can just export to group, instead of deleting any geometry.
- Two-ways threshold operations:
for example you want to keep pieces larger than 0.9 and smaller than 0.1 (so you are deleting all the pieces within the range 0.1-0.8
- Accepts also custom float attributes for analysis.
For example you want to keep only the tallest pieces, with the "height" attribute greater than 6.
- Can approximate the overall Piece Direction.
For example you want to keep only the pieces that share the most similar direction, or that share the direction with a line that you provide
- You have measurement hooks parameters in the parameter pane, ready to be linked. You get the min, average, max values, and the average piece direction.
For example you can easily extract pieces with the area close to the average.
- Elements Operations: now you can extract a desired amount of largest or smallest pieces.
It works two-ways again: for example you want at the same time the 3 smallest pieces and the 6 largest.
