Hi, we are trying really hard to build our next project in Solaris, but are struggling with things.

Maybe some of you can tell me if point groups are supported in USD or not. My scenario is that I need to LOPimport something into an instancer node and unpack it to get some points from a point group. Put after unpacking all point groups are lost.

USD doesn't have groups

LOP Import will create groups in SOPs from geometry subsets with no familyName in USD. Only prim groups are supported however, not point groups.
You could create boolean attributes in USD that you then convert to groups in SOPs if you really need to.

Thanks for pointing out my missinterpretation @jsmack. I'm meant to say SOP geometry point groups in a packedUSD.

Thank you @npetit for clarifying the primitive groups only support and the .hip file. I'll look into it.
