Monterey 12.2.1
Mini M1
8 GB Unified Memory
Houdini 19.0.554

Install and such went very smooth - Houdini seems snappier on OSX.

Glad to hear it’s snappy! Are you able to use Arm native Redshift in this version of Houdini?

Juanjo posted a custom build of RS for Houdini 19.0.554 Apple ARM64 build just an hour ago: here [redshift.maxon.net]

Anyone able to get RS to work using the Apple Silicon custom build….I get errors on H startup, and I “think” I gave permission to run the pylibs for RS, but then, I get crashes when I try to render or basically do anything with RS.

It's working fine for me. The first time you launch Houdini, it's complaining, then give it permission to open in system preferences and launch Houdini again.

I'm running the Houdini 19.0.555 arm64 daily build, with RS 3.0.66 with the custom build for Houdini 19.0.554.

Would you mind walking me thru the giving permission piece? - I’m very new to macOS and its inner workings.

Okay, we've been racking our brains about why RS was not rendering, using the default install process - and there's still some kinks to be ironed out - BUT, there is a path forward in the interim.

If you follow these exacts steps, you'll be rendering with RS in no time on Apple Silicon.
