Vellum rippling/jittering troubleshooting

I have a very simple setup of a ball moving through a vellum cloth that tears a hole through it, after the hole the cloth begins to jitter and I cannot find a solution.

  • Velocity dampening only slows the sim down making it look underwater
  • I have tried increasing the constraint iterations and smoothing iterations to 300 and 50 respectively
  • Altering the damping ratios of both the stretch and bend to 0 and 1 respectively
  • Enabling Warp/Welt and Plasticity in case it was some strange deformations causing it
  • increasing the mass

The set up is very basic so I know that this can be eliminated I just do not have enough experience with vellum to crack it. If anyone has dealt with this before I would really appreciate a fix. TIA

I think use a mesh with lower resolution to simulate could be better,
for your scene file,I did these adjustments for reducing jittering,
I just tweaked some parameters like stretch damping ratio and bend stiffness of cloth,
and I added a shapematch with a very low value,
then some other adjustments for the solver as well,
see the marked nodes, hope it helps
