Hi guys, last time I tried this was 2008

let´s have a go at it again…then I wont bother.

Now..I understand I should get the latest apprentice version, but it happens to be I did use that some time ago, and some fluid tools changed so then I happened to have an older version houdini 11.508
and let´s go from there.

I created a fluid container, added a sphere and used the liquid from object tool, and voila a simple fluid is made.
Now I wanted to do an obj, sequence export of that that.

so I..
1. created a render node/other output nodes and choose geometry (or should I have choosen dynamic)

2. now I have no exact idea on where in the SOP path I should be
selecting the proper operator, which one is the correct one that is?

3. output file, for object sequence..is it enough to name it fluid.obj?

Maybe I am giving it the wrong output file format, or I have selected the wrong SOP path, have tested some of them….I only end up with a single obj file and not several obj files.

when I click render it seems to be processing through the frames though.

Thankful for any help

A friend over at newtek and I solved it.

first I had choosen not proper operators in the SOP, I ended up selecting fluid surface.
then I had to check the proper output file job binary I think I choose, and also important to not rename it wrongly or it would only export out a single obj file and not several obj files.

Then I had issues with lightwave import sequence, which required me to use rename master.
As it turned out from the output of houdini, the naming became 1.obj 2.obj .3. obj etc..etc.., but lightwave wouldn´t have it that way, so a rename to 001.obj, 002.obj. 003.obj etc… was required.

I believe it should be possible to set that directly in houdini and more correctly in the output file though I don´t now exactly how yet.
