Hi guys,
So I have a couple of alembic cache exports from maya, for the sake of simplicity lets say one is a walkcycle that repeats and the other is a idle pose.
I made a network for the idle anim and copied those characters on a bunch of scattered points with a copy sop and a timeshift node that offsets the anim on the copies and it works great.
I imported the walk cycle anim model and did a stamp on it to randomize the rotation and scale of the models, now I want to translate each model in the direction they are facing. How can I translate those on their local Z axis? when I drop a translate node it translates all on world Z which is not what I want.
I am also wondering how I can randomize the models that get instanced on the scatter points so I can have some walking characters and some idle.
Thanks for any help and hope that was clear explanation. I can't post a screenshot or scene because these are work models.

I think the easiest way to do that is just to translate your character along its Z axis *before* you copy. To randomize the orientation of the copies, don't use stamping, use the instancing attributes [sidefx.com] on your target points to control this.
