Hi everybody, i'm currently learning houdini for some month, i'm begin to play with the new sand solver. It's very cool and fast!

I'm blocked, i want to make a launch a snowball against a wall. I use the “RBD Grain” but it's take long to cache the simulation. And houdini crash or worst my computer freeze.

And in the RBD Grain, there isn't the node “Grain Update” for refine the physical at the snow…
I try too emit the snowball with a “Locale Emit Particle”, it's doen't work….

Have you a solution?

Thanks for your help!!

RBD Grain is a different setup to the other Grain nodes, The RBD is meaning Rigid Body Dynamics.

that's right RBD != PBD, even though I must admit, it looks pretty similar in written form

Hello, sorry to answer now, I found the solution
I use an Impulse Velocity and it's work perfectly.

I'll do many other tests, I try to do the Snow Packing, and i have a problem with the snow, it through the ground.

I put the ground in the “Bullet Data” Concave instead of Convex. I put the sphere in “RBD Object”, the collision with the ground is perfect but not for the snow….

I attached my scene, for you see it yourself.

Thanks for your help
