hello,

Some node/tools used very often. I can't find a way to set hotkey for Tab menu item. Someone suggest make a custom shelf tool with hotkey. But how to find the Script used by Tab menu item?

Thanks!

With the TAB menu item visible, try doing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Left click on it.

I have tried. Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Left click only worked for normal menu item. Not worked with Tab menu.

Items in the TAB menu are really shelf tools. So, in the shelf tool editor, in the Hotkeys tab, you can assign a hotkey in a desired context for tool invocation.

Shelf tools is only one sub-menu of tab menu. Many items not in shelf.
For example “Find Material Tool” has not in shelf, and can't set hotkey.
“Find Material Tool” can access material quickly, but must need many keystroke every time.

you can add any tool to a shelf so you could just add it to your custom shelf and assign a shortcut to it. I tried it out and it works.

add a new shelf. left click in it and select Edit Shelf…
Under Tab Tools look for Find materials. Select it and press Apply.
Then Ctrl alt shift click the tool in the shelf and there you can add a shortcut.

hope it helps.
