POP to Surface?

Hey all,

I'm a n00b trying to learn, so please forgive my ignorance in here!

My ultimate goal for what I'm working on is to get a particle group to emit from one object (could be a sphere or an imported alembic of a character running). It should then follow a spline with some forces applied to it and form into a new object (i.e a tube or logo or something.)

I purchased Adam Swaabs tutorial over at cmiVFX, but I'm not able to manipulate it quite to what I'm looking for.

Currently, I'm emitting from a pop source which is tied to a torus. It then is effected by a curve force along a curve I created. As it comes off the curve, I want it to attract to the surface of a tube and hold it's shape.

I will need to make this transition a few times (from the tube to a sphere for instance.) Baby steps though!

Any help is much appreciated. I have attached the file as well.
