hi. im trying to apply colours to my particles and export as alembic.
by default the shelf tool applies colour in a number of places, inside the dopnet, and to each particle source.
however, which one actually dictates the exported colour?
i ask because when you upres the sim, the colour needs to be applied after the upres, otherwise the spawned particles all take the parent's colour.
i apply the upres to the final “grain_particles” net, then add the rop output at the end of this network. works fine.
however ive also applied a colour node after the upres, before the output driver. with my custom colours in. i can see in the viewport it is functioning correctly.
but when i view the exported alembic file in 3dsmax, it is using the colours applied in the dopnet. - i know this as they are set to bright colours as i am previewing some groups i created.
ive specified that the alembic contains Cd. - otherwise i get no particle colour at all exported.
what am i missing?
