Hello,
I'm hoping someone might be able to help. After Houdini says it has successfully installed the Apprentice license, it tries to launch and immediately shuts down. Then, it repeats the same loop:
A. The License Administrator gives me the option to install the Apprentice version.
B. I Accept the EULA
C. The License Administrator says “The non-commercial licenses were successfully installed. What would you like to do next?” I click “Run”
D. The Houdini icon appears for a second or two on the Doc bar and then shuts down.
E. Loop starts again with The License Administrator giving me the option to install the Apprentice license.
I'm trying to run Houdini 13.0.547 on a MacBookPro with Mavericks.
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.
Thanks,
Carlos

I think it's because you don't have enough permissions to write to the license file. Try this:
- Run the Houdini Shell Terminal from your Applications > Houdini menu
- From the terminal, run this command (without the quotes): “sudo hkey -n 1”
- Enter in your password so that hkey gets permission to install license
- Once you've successfully installed a license, do NOT choose to run Houdini when prompted. Quit the process.
- Now start Houdini from the Applications menu.
